Under the banner “Books from Africa since 1982”, Hogarth Representation has been specialising in African books for more than four decades. With extensive knowledge of publishing markets across sub-Saharan Africa, the company maintains a broad network of publishers, authors and institutions, undertaking regular book-buying trips to identify and acquire publications. Its customers include academic libraries, bookshops and individual readers.
This collaboration provides a new route to our publications for Portuguese-speaking communities abroad, as well as researchers, students and readers interested in African history, literature and societies, with a particular focus on Angola.

Owned by its founding African publishers, ABC began trading in 1989 to help African publications reach readers beyond their domestic markets. Its catalogue brings together scholarly works, literature and children’s books from more than 150 African publishers, serving libraries, booksellers and individual readers worldwide.
